Upgrading the Information System for OÜ TIS International Laboratory
About the project:
OÜ TIS International is an Estonian laboratory specializing in material quality control. For years, they used an internal system built on Drupal 7, which stored all their reports and test results. But the platform had become outdated, and the client realized it was time for a change.
What needed to be done:
They came to us with several challenges:
- The system ran on Drupal 7, which has long been unsupported — a security risk
- They needed to migrate to a new server
- There was no proper export of reports in convenient formats
- Parts of the interface remained untranslated
How we solved it:
We started with the main task — migrating the entire system to Drupal 10. This isn't just a version update, but practically a new life for the site: modern security, better performance, and long-term support.
At the same time, we helped with the migration to a new server. It was important to handle everything carefully so the laboratory's work wouldn't be interrupted.
We also developed a special module for exporting reports in Open Document format.
Additionally, we added missing translations, improved the interface, and fixed things that annoyed users in their daily work.
What we achieved:
The laboratory got a reliable system that will serve them for many years to come. Staff can now generate client reports faster, and working with the interface has become more pleasant and intuitive.
